Arretha Dozier-Cooper is a mother of two adult children, grandmother of two, and great-grandmother of one. Born and raised in San Francisco, CA, she began her musical training at the age of six under the tutelage of Sir Jules Hayward and continued until she graduated from high school. In 1974, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from San Jose State University. In 1989, Arretha began her career in education, starting as a substitute teacher in Oakland Unified School District, and went on to earn her Secondary Credential in Music from Holy Names College in Oakland, CA. During her twenty-three-year career with the district, she worked as a Teacher at Roosevelt and Madison Middle Schools. In 2000, she completed her Master’s in Educational Leadership and Preliminary Administrative Credential at San Francisco State University and worked as an Assistant Principal at Madison for six years. In 2004, she completed her Clear Professional Administrative Credential at California State University, Hayward. In 2005, she returned to the classroom for a year at Castlemont High School and retired after six years from Skyline High School Performing Arts Department.
For over forty years, Arretha has served the Body of Christ as a singer, musician, choir director, and worship leader throughout the Bay Area. In 2008 she was ordained as a Minister by Pastor Alvin Sims of New Covenant Tabernacle Church in Oakland, CA. In 2015, she began volunteering on the Prison Ministry Team of Liberty Vision Ministries, Union City, California, under the leadership of Bishops Diane and Peter Robinson.
In 2017, Arretha was ordained as a teacher [Five-fold Ministry] by the All Nations Apostolic Network of Ministries under the covering of Bishops/Apostles Peter and Diane Robinson.
Over the last seven years, she has had the opportunity to travel locally, nationally, and internationally as part of the Liberty Vision Ministry Team and ANANM. Her sincere desire is to give all she can to encourage and edify the Body of Christ.
